Sumac is a celebration of wildly local and homestead techniques. With a seasonal approach to cooking and preservation, we offer a menu that is unique to the Rappahannock Piedmont region. We strive to source 100% of all proteins, vegetables, dairy, and grains from within 150 miles. Our menu is subject to change weekly based on what’s in season with our farm partners.

The Tasting Menu is our prix fixe menu of the week. This is a hyper seasonal omnivore's menu comprised of five courses. Due to the nature of our kitchen, the menu is released weekly and regretfully, dietary are not available for the full Tasting Menu. Reserve tickets for the best dining experience.

Tickets are released monthly. Ticket sales close EOD Wednesday for upcoming weekend. Tickets are available from April to mid-December on non-event weekends.

Regretfully, we are unable to accommodate dietary restrictions for the full Tasting Menu (tickets). There will always be a vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free option(s) available a la carte. Other modifications are not permitted due to the nature of our kitchen. A la carte is offered first come, first served.

Please plan to arrive promptly at the designated ticket time. Check-in is at the Service Station behind Pen Druid Brewery. Sip on delicious brews from the Taproom, and enjoy the view while your food is prepared!

The dining environment is a rustic and natural setting. Self-seating is available inside the taproom, outside on the covered patio and throughout the fields at picnic tables— all with picturesque mountain views.

Yes, we are family friendly! The dining atmosphere is casual and family friendly at Pen Druid Brewery.

Friendly leashed dogs are permitted at the brewery farm. Dogs must be on leashes at all time and are not permitted inside the taproom.

Sumac is a one-of-a-kind wood fired kitchen trailer currently located at Pen Druid brewery and farm in Sperryville, VA.
The setting is a 27-acre brewery & permaculture farm with picturesque mountain views. While we aim to provide a casual fine dining experience through food, Sumac is not a brick and mortar restaurant.
The brewery connects to the Sperryville River Trail, a 1.5 mile path from the brewery farm to the historic downtown. The brewery closes at 7pm and the gates will close. Please return before close if on the trail.

Pen Druid brews wood-fired spontaneous, barrel-fermented and coolshipped native beer, natural cider, and wine. Natural wines are available by the glass and bottle. All drink pairings are purchased separately in the taproom.

For in person transactions (a la carte), there are 20% service charge. The ticket price however reflects this service charge supporting fair wages to our team. If you should wish to tip on top of this amount, you may do so in person!

If you need to modify your arrival time, you may do so via the confirmation email up to 24 hours in advance.
Cancellations can be accommodated more than 48 hours in advance.
Tickets are non-refundable less than 48 hours in advance. For help rescheduling, contact us. Any other policy pertaining to special event ticket will be specified on the ticket.
